Moving a six bedroom terraced house in Kensington

Last week offered a real work challenge for Best London Removals’ team since our removal company was awarded the honour to relocate an astonishing 6 bedroom terraced house in Kensington.

After successful completion of the removal job, the house had to be completely empty, including service basement area. All furniture, paintings and ornaments had to be safety wrapped, chandeliers removed and protected in custom made crates, ready for transportation. Kitchen china and crystal glassware also had to be packed by our packing team.

We organized a careful onsite survey of the property to be moved (a standard procedure we carry out on our prospect removals), we laid out the plan, as follows:

  • Day one has been dedicated for packing of boxes service and preparing the furniture;
  • On day 2 we have delivered and unloaded all content (total of  4000 cu.ft.) to the new destination;
  • Day 3 we left for chandeliers replacement and delivery, also clearing the basement and utility/service area.

Moving from London to Manchester in a day

Last week we had an interesting removal job with a neighbour of ours in Ruislip, North-West London. In 21st century, one would suppose that a great part of the leads (especially in the moving service business) come from “contemporary” sources – Internet websites, online advertising, etc. And in fact it is close to the truth – many of the people, who eventually hire Best London Removals Ltd for their removal job, do come from the internet. But it is not always so, and here is an example of this.

It occurred that this particular removal was initiated by a person, who happened to live near our main office in Ruislip. He had spotted the branded vans of the company and decided to talk to us to get more detailed information on our removal service. As all our customers know, we offer a free removal quotation (could be arranged through the website here), so it was a pleasure for our surveyor to speak to the potential customer and to explain how the removal process in this particular case could proceed. The customer was very happy with our handling of his inquiry and soon the deal was closed – Best London Removals Ltd was selected to do the relocation for our Ruislip neighbour.

Removal companies – how to choose the best one?

DSC_3941Every now and then any of our friends happen to ask this important question –

“How’s business going?

With so many removal companies in London, why would a potential customer choose you?”

To tell the truth, though this question might seem a bit difficult to answer at first sight, in fact it is not. Yes, there are way too many removal companies in London, but hey, do not forget that London is a 10 million people city, one of the most populated cities in the world. And given the high frequency of changing living and/or office location of its citizens it is not so hard to guess – yes, there is plenty of work for removal companies. Read more

Moving office – no stress and no business interruption at minimum cost

Office removal preparation

Preparing an office for removal

The decision to move the office to another location, no matter if it is related with expansion or shrinking of business, requires a serious consideration. Apart from influencing the most important factors for business prosperity – the people – relocating the office is related to physical moving of office equipment (computers, laptops, servers, printers, scanners, etc.), office furniture, a large amount of paper documents, and other machinery – water and food dispensers, coffee machines, and sometimes tennis tables and other entertainment items. Tips to have a better move

If you have not moved for a long time, you might have forgotten how stressful and time-consuming a move might be. If you have not done it ever, you cannot even imagine how tough the whole experience can be. However, you can decrease your problems, dissatisfaction and complications. What is even more useful, you will save a lot of time.

The cornerstone of having removal without stress and problems is to have enough time for planning. In this way, you can react to and neutralize any unexpected complications. The sooner you start planning, the better. You will be able to react to the unexpected issues on time while if you have several problems at once, you will not be able to solve all of them at the same time and your move can turn into disaster. For example, if you want to pack yourself, do not procrastinate and start sooner. The most difficult removals are normally due to the fact that the customer has delayed everything for the very last day and then, they get nervous, in turn the company employees get nervous and everyone tries to push the things. You can avoid all that by just being more organized.

Several hints for better removal experience

Don't want problems with removal - Call Best London Removals

Don’t want problems with your removal – just call Best London Removals

At a first glance, it may seem that such magic does not exist, but this might not be true, as our experience suggests. There are actually several removal tips which can assure you a far more pleasant and free of problems removal experience. And what is even better, most of them are truly easy to follow and all you need to do is to have some concentration and do some planning, well, you also need to know what you want to achieve, of course. If you are not sure if you want to move a piece of furniture, you cannot expect that the removal company would be able to do the choice for you. So what can you do better?

For example, it is a very good idea to make a list. Carefully write down what you would like to move so that you do not forget anything. You will see that you will have good ideas how to combine items so that you can save place. Then put a number on your boxes so that you know what is where. You will save so much time when you start unpacking later on – you cannot even imagine it. And your new place will start feeling more comfortable than the previous very quickly. Also get more boxes, glue, packing paper, bubble wrap, tape – the chance that you need more than you can imagine initially is very, very high. And you will not have the time to go for extra supplies once you started packing, so act more wisely and buy a little bit more. After all, you can always use them later or give your neigbours the rest. The boxes in this case are very useful as they can have light items like pillows squeezed in them and thus, create more space in the van. Do get more boxes – you will definitely need them. Plus they also protect items from damage, of course.

The top 10 list of moving mistakes in real life

And here come the most common mistakes non-profesional movers make in the everyday life, and what you should do to avoid them (generally you will avoid all movers mistakes by hiring Best London Removals to do the removal job for you, but not all people are that wise):

1. Packing takes time – don’t forget it.

Well, if you are to do the packing on your own, just plan it carefully. Packing, padding, and securing all the belongings in even the smallest apartment can take an unexpected amount of time. You should make a list of your goods, divide them into categories and group them according to the packing boxes.

Hiring professional packers, movers, and sometimes cleaners is a good option, but not everyone is willing to trust outsiders for the job. Anyway, don’t forget that being unprepared when the moving trucks arrive is never a good idea.

London to Newquay moving service

Total mileage of 570 miles and about 11 hours of travel both ways.

t’s been a long time since our last post here, but unfortunately (or should I say fortunately) we’ve been quite busy doing removal services for our customers, so there hasn’t been much time to write.

Anyway, the flat moving described here happened in late September and included a complete removal of a 2-bedroom appartment (3rd floor, no lift 🙁 ) in London to a 3-bedroom house – no lift needed 🙂  in Newquay.
