Removals across the London Borough of Brent
Best London Removals is based in Ruislip, in the neighbouring Borough of Hillingdon, and Brent is one of the areas we have been working in regularly since we started in 2011. Its position on our western doorstep means our teams are familiar with its streets, its traffic patterns, and the practical realities of moving here.
Brent is one of London's most diverse and culturally distinct boroughs, stretching from the dense urban character of Kilburn and Harlesden in the south to the more spacious suburban neighbourhoods of Kingsbury and Kenton in the north. The borough sits roughly along the old Metroland corridor, and this history is still visible in its housing stock: late Victorian and Edwardian terraces dominate the southern half, inter-war semis spread across the middle belt, and Wembley Park in the east has been transformed over the past decade into one of London's most significant new residential developments.
The range of property types in Brent is genuinely wide. Harlesden, Willesden, and Kilburn are characterised by Victorian terraces and mansion block conversions, some of which involve shared entrances, narrow staircases, and no off-street parking. Queen's Park and Brondesbury have larger, more established Victorian and Edwardian houses, popular with families and commanding significant volumes on moving day. Wembley Park is defined almost entirely by new-build apartment blocks, many of them car-free developments with managed access and building-specific loading protocols. Kingsbury and Neasden sit between these extremes, with a good stock of inter-war semis and post-war housing on well-established residential roads.
Semi-detached houses account for the largest share of property sales in the northern parts of the borough. Flats dominate in the south and around the Wembley Park development corridor.

Brent's variety of property types means no two home moves are the same. A family moving out of a large Victorian house in Queen's Park involves a very different scope to a flat move in a Wembley Park new-build or a terrace relocation in Harlesden. Our full home removals service covers everything from pre-move planning and professional packing through to furniture assembly and placement at your new address. We work across all Brent postcodes, including NW2, NW6, NW9, NW10, HA0, and HA9, and we tailor the team size and vehicle to your exact needs.
About the London Borough of Brent

Areas we cover in Brent
We cover the whole London Borough of Brent. Below are the neighbourhoods we move in most regularly, with notes on typical property types and access or parking considerations in each.
Wembley / Wembley Park (HA9 / HA0)
Wembley divides clearly into two zones. The older residential streets around Wembley Central and North Wembley have a good stock of inter-war semis and terraced houses on established roads, with moderate CPZ coverage near the stations. Wembley Park, by contrast, is one of London's most intensively developed new-build areas, with dozens of apartment blocks built or under construction as part of the Quintain masterplan.
Moves in Wembley Park almost always involve building-specific loading bay bookings, lift access windows, and car-free site protocols that must be confirmed well in advance with the development management team. On Wembley Stadium event days, CPZ restrictions operate from 8am to midnight across a wide area, and parking suspensions may not be actionable during these hours. We check event schedules as a matter of course when booking any move near the stadium and advise accordingly.
Kilburn (NW6)
Kilburn is one of the most densely built parts of the borough, with a mix of Victorian terraced houses, mansion block conversions, and purpose-built flats along and around the High Road. Properties in conversion blocks typically have shared entrances, narrow hallways, and staircases that require careful furniture handling. CPZ coverage is extensive across residential streets on both sides of the High Road. Loading directly outside properties on the main road is generally not feasible, and side street suspensions are the usual approach. We plan access and parking for every Kilburn booking individually.
Willesden / Willesden Green (NW10 / NW2)
Willesden has a varied housing stock, with Victorian terraces on the older residential streets, Edwardian semis in Willesden Green, and a growing number of converted and new-build flat developments near the Jubilee line stations. The area is popular with families moving out of inner London looking for more space. CPZ zones are active near the stations and along the main corridors, and suspension applications are typically required for moves on permit-controlled streets. Residential roads away from the stations are generally more straightforward to work on.
Harlesden (NW10)
Harlesden is a busy, commercially active area with a strong community character and a compact housing stock of Victorian terraces and inter-war semis. The High Street and surrounding commercial roads are congested through most of the day, and loading positions on the main road require careful planning. Residential streets behind the high street are generally accessible with a good early start and the right approach to parking. London Overground services make the area popular for commuters, and the proximity to Park Royal means a number of our commercial moves in the borough are based here.
Queen's Park (NW6)
Queen's Park is one of the most desirable residential areas in the borough, with well-maintained Victorian and Edwardian houses on tree-lined streets, popular with families and professionals. Moves here are typically among the higher-volume jobs in Brent, involving well-established households with loft conversions, large bedroom sets, and established gardens. Some streets near the tube station have permit restrictions, and parking suspensions are sometimes required on the busier residential roads. Away from the station area, access is generally good and carry distances are moderate.
Kensal Green / Kensal Rise (NW10)
Kensal Green sits on the southern boundary of Brent, bordering Kensington and Chelsea to the south and Ealing to the west. The housing is predominantly Victorian terraces and some larger conversion properties, popular with young professionals and families. Streets near the station have CPZ restrictions and loading from the road often requires a suspension. Carries can be longer in terrace properties without side access, which we confirm at the assessment stage. The proximity to the Congestion Charge zone boundary is worth noting for moves heading south.
Neasden (NW10)
Neasden has a more suburban character than the southern parts of the borough, with a good stock of inter-war semis on well-maintained residential roads. It is popular with families and offers more space at lower cost than areas closer to the West End. Parking conditions are generally more manageable here than in Kilburn or Wembley, though CPZ zones do operate near the Jubilee line station. Moves in Neasden tend to be steady, methodical jobs involving well-established households.
Dollis Hill (NW2)
Dollis Hill has a quiet, predominantly residential character with inter-war and post-war semis on established streets. The area offers good value for families looking for space within the borough, and its Jubilee line access makes it popular with commuters. CPZ coverage is lighter than in the southern parts of the borough, and access conditions on most residential roads are straightforward. Moves here are generally among the more manageable in Brent.
Kingsbury (NW9)
Kingsbury is one of the more spacious residential areas in the borough, with larger inter-war and post-war semis and some detached houses on well-established roads. It sits at the northern edge of Brent and has a genuinely suburban feel. Moves here often involve significant volume, established gardens, garages, and outbuildings, particularly where families have been in a property for many years. Parking is generally more manageable than in the southern half of the borough, and access conditions are usually good.
Stonebridge (NW10)
Stonebridge is a mixed area with post-war housing and regeneration-era developments alongside older stock. Some estate roads have access restrictions or turning constraints that are worth confirming before moving day. The proximity to the North Circular means through-traffic can add time to routes, and we factor this into start time planning. We confirm access details for every Stonebridge booking individually.
Moving in Brent: what to know before your move day
Parking and controlled zones
Brent operates an extensive network of Controlled Parking Zones across the borough, with coverage concentrated around tube and Overground stations, busy high streets, and the Wembley Stadium area. If your street falls within a CPZ, you will need a parking suspension to reserve bays for the removal van on moving day.
Brent Council requires a minimum of seven working days' notice for a suspension application. Applications submitted with less than 14 days' notice attract an additional late fee. The bay fee is £67 per bay per day for standard applications submitted 14 or more days in advance. Late applications incur an additional fee of £133 on top of the bay fee. A cancellation fee of £101 applies if an approved suspension is cancelled. All charges must be paid in advance.
For one Maxi Mover van, we require two standard bays directly outside the property. For two vans, three bays. We advise on the specific requirements for your street when you book and can guide you through the application process.
Wembley Stadium event days require specific attention. On event days, extended CPZ restrictions operate across a large zone around the stadium from 8am to midnight. Parking suspensions submitted in the normal way may still be valid, but access to suspended bays can be affected by event-day road management. We check the Wembley event calendar for every booking in the HA9 and HA0 areas and will advise you if your move date falls on or close to an event day.
Full details for Brent Council parking suspension are on our parking suspension guide.

Quick tips for moving day
Ask for a pre-move visit
We can visit your property in advance, or carry out a video survey, to assess the volume of your move, plan the right team and vehicle, and estimate packing materials. We will also check access, stairwells, and parking. This is particularly important for larger homes in Queen's Park and Kingsbury, and for new-build flat moves in Wembley Park where loading bay and lift bookings need to be arranged by you with your building management team before moving day.
Book parking early and check the Wembley event calendar
If your street falls within one of Brent's controlled parking zones, apply for your suspension at least seven working days before your move date, and ideally earlier to avoid the late surcharge. If you are moving anywhere near Wembley or Wembley Park, check whether your move date coincides with a stadium event. Event day restrictions run from 8am to midnight and can significantly affect access. We do this check automatically for every booking in the area.
Prepare your appliances
Defrost the fridge freezer at least 24 hours before moving day, drain the washing machine, and secure any loose shelves or glass panels. This prevents leaks or damage during transport and avoids delays on the morning.
Pack a first-night bag
Set aside a bag with overnight essentials, toiletries, chargers, medication, keys, and basic kitchen items, before packing begins. Keep it with you on moving day so you are not searching through boxes at the end of a long day.
Do a final walkthrough
Before the van leaves, walk through every room, cupboard, loft hatch, shed, and outbuilding. A five-minute walkthrough avoids the cost and inconvenience of a return trip.
