If items need to be dismantled before moving or reassembled at the destination, we can assist within your booked time. Let us know in advance and we will factor it in

Man and van works best for jobs that do not need the full planning and resourcing of a complete removals service. It is the right option when:

All bookings use our modern 3.5-tonne Maxi Mover vans, suitable for most domestic and small commercial loads. We offer two daily slots: a morning start around 8am and an afternoon start around 1–2pm.

Chargeable time begins upon arrival at the pickup address and ends once the job is complete. During this time, our team can assist with:

- Packing and unpacking within the time if required

Packing and optional extras
Most man and van customers prefer to pack themselves to keep the job quick and costs down. That said, we can assist with additional tasks within your booked time
Packing assistance
If you have items still to pack on the day, we can help. This adds time to the booking but keeps everything under the same hourly rate
Furniture dismantling
Flat-pack and standard furniture can be dismantled before loading and reassembled at the destination. Agree this in advance so we arrive with the right tools
Packing materials
Boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper, and tape are available to order in advance through our packing materials service. Having the right materials ready before your team arrives keeps the job moving efficiently

How is man and van moving service priced?
Man and van is charged by the hour, based on team size and van. The minimum booking covers the first few hours (see the pricing table above). After that, the agreed hourly rate applies for every additional hour or part thereof. Time runs from arrival at the collection address until unloading is complete.
Do I need to have everything packed before the team arrives?
It is strongly recommended. Most customers pack in advance to keep the job quick and the cost down. If you still have items to pack when the team arrives, we can help — but this adds time to the booking and increases the total cost.
Is man and van suitable for a studio flat or single room?
Yes. It is one of the most common uses. A 1-man or 2-man booking is usually sufficient for a studio flat or a single room, depending on the volume of belongings.
Can you dismantle and reassemble furniture?
Yes. Let us know in advance what needs dismantling and we will bring the appropriate tools. Dismantling and reassembly are carried out within the booked time — no extra charge beyond the hourly rate.
Do you charge extra for stairs or multiple floors?
No extra charge for stairs. Stair access is factored into the time naturally — a job with several flights of stairs simply takes longer, which is reflected in the total hours. We will advise if a more complex access situation requires an additional team member.
Can I book man and van for the same day?

Are my belongings insured during the move?
Yes. Goods in Transit and public liability insurance are included on every booking. Your items are covered during handling and transport, subject to policy terms.
What is the difference between man and van and a full removals service?
Man and van is an hourly service designed for customers who are already packed and need reliable manpower and a vehicle.
A full removals service includes a pre-move survey, fixed-price quote, full packing and unpacking options, and a more detailed planning process.
