Frames, headboards, bunk and cabin beds, taken apart so they can be carried safely through doorways and down stairs.
Wardrobes
Full-height and double wardrobes, with rails and internal fittings removed separately.
Shelving and cube units
Tall bookcases, cube shelving units and modular systems, separated into sections for safe transport.
Desks and dining tables
L-shaped and large office desks, and dining tables with removable legs, so they fit through door frames and in the van.

Dismantling and reassembly are planned into your removal from the start.
When you ask for a quote
Tell us which items need dismantling. For a full removal we note them at the free video survey and build the time into your quote and team size; for man and van, tell us when you book.
At your current home
Dismantling is done before loading. Fixings are bagged and taped to each piece, and wrapping goes on straight away.
At your new home
While part of the team unloads, others reassemble each piece in the rooms you choose.
Sign off
We check every assembled item is stable and in the right place before we leave.

Home move, table fixings refitted
Moved from Hayes to Ruislip beginning of February with Best London Removals, they were superb, packed the lorry expertly with wrapping on the soft furniture and good boxes supplied for the packing. 4 screws off my dining table were missing, the removal man found them in his van and returned them insisting on fitting them back on the table. Best London Removals – very aptly named! Very reasonably priced, very efficient and professional service and very well organised, 5 star removal job! As it was a fairly long distance removal (in terms of travelling time) Ivelin’s team came the day before to pack up the first removal lorry then came very early the next morning to pack up the other one. They carefully dismantled any furniture that needed it, beds and wardrobes, and carefully wrapped up our sofas in protective coverings so that they weren’t damaged in transit. … They even safely moved our fish tank with the fish still in it and all of the fish are still alive and well!

Is dismantling included in a removal quote?
Yes. For home and office removals, the items that need dismantling are listed at the survey and included in your quote, team size and timing.
Do I need to tell you in advance?
Yes, please list them when you ask for a quote or during the video survey, so we bring the right tools and team. Last-minute requests on the day can usually be accommodated.
What about fitted wardrobes or built-in shelving?
Fitted furniture usually stays with the property. Tell us about any built-in items when you ask for a quote and we will advise what is practical.
Will my fixings be kept together?
Yes. Bolts, cams, dowels and small fixings are bagged and taped to the matching piece before it is moved. Nothing travels loose.
Does dismantling and reassembly add time?
It depends on the piece. A simple bed can take about 10 minutes to take apart and 10 to rebuild, while bunk beds, beds with desks, storage beds and complex wardrobes take much longer. On a fixed-price home or office move, we plan that time at the survey and send a big enough team, so your moving day keeps its usual length. On a man and van booking, dismantling, loading and reassembly are all part of your hourly time, so complex pieces add to it, and an extra team member may be worth it.
Can I book assembly without a move?
Yes. Standalone assembly is a separate booking: a 2-man team for up to 4 hours for £396 including VAT, then £102 per hour.
How do I know if my furniture needs dismantling?
As a rule, if it would not fit through a doorway or down the stairs assembled, it needs taking apart. That includes most full-height wardrobes, beds, bunk beds and large modular units.
Do you dismantle furniture on a man and van booking?
Yes, as part of your booked hours, so it adds to the time. Tell us what needs doing when you book so we bring the right tools; for complex pieces, an extra team member may be worth it. See our man and van service.
